Overview

The Role
Hanover Research is actively recruiting for a Product Development Intern. This is a paid internship, and it will promote the development and refinement of skills related to product management: business requirement gathering, defining product features & functionality, improving UX/UI, and participating in Agile processes. The Product Development Intern will support development of a data processing and management software platform. The role will assist with the development of data analysis tools and software to support research operations. The Product Development Intern will report to the platform Product Owner.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist with user-facing stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, definitions, design, and testing.
  • Participate in discovery, problem solving, and UX groups.
  • Participate in an Agile product development process.

 
Desired Skills and Attributes

  • High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Excel and MS Word
  • Proven academic achievement
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A strong and demonstrable work ethic
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI or Tableau) preferred
  • Experience writing for a business / professional audience preferred
  • Experience writing for a technical audience preferred
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle or coding languages is a plus
  • Strong command of the English language and demonstrated writing skills
  • Strong interest in research and data analysis
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned project from start to finish
  • Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal guidance or oversight
  • Comfort with or experience interacting professionally with others over the phone and/or email
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple short and long-term projects to meet deadlines

Please note that all interns will not necessarily perform all of the above tasks, but that an assortment of projects will be made available to him/her according to their proven research abilities. This position allows the intern to gain more responsibility during their internship period. 

Qualifications

Time Commitment Per Week
20-40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during the period of September 2022 - March 2023 


Compensation
$15/hour
 
Education Requirement
All levels of academic attainment may apply. College seniors and Masters’ students preferred
