The Remote Software Engineering Manager at Hanover Research is a hands-on leadership position responsible for leading and managing the client-facing and internal software development team, providing enhancements to the company's growing data platform, and ensuring on-time delivery of planned releases for enterprise initiatives. This role is accountable for working closely with other business teams, including Product Development, other data engineering development teams, and external vendors.


  • Oversee the architecture, design, build, and implementation of solution features from simple or well-defined objective/problem statements
  • Work in Scrum-based iterative development environment, including architecting, designing, prototyping (front/backend), launching, and repeating
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and manage software products and features
  • Develop work plans, communicate priorities, and manage deadlines/deliverables with leadership
  • Build telemetry/monitoring, resilience, and security into the DNA of every product
  • Create visually stunning front-ends with feature-rich capabilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and software development methodologies
  • Lead the development team to create and maintain high quality, secure, and reliable software
  • Establish guidelines and standards for software development activities and processes
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the software development life cycle
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers and be the face of the development team
  • Provide technical and managerial guidance to the development team
  • Set expectations, provide feedback, and ensure team members are working towards the common goals
  • Ensure quality of the software delivered and manage risks
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, QA, and business analyst resources
  • Foster and maintain good relationships with team members and clients
  • Participate in team problem-solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues
  • Effectively convey technical solutions to clients, partners, and team members through oral and written communication
  • Develop presentations to be delivered to internal and external groups
  • Develop, publish, and maintain a master catalog of Data Warehouse information availability
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, or equivalent work/industry experience
  • 8+ years of experience with a focus on architecture, design, and development of client-facing data applications
  • Experience in managing remote teams and leading a web development team
  • Working experience with Data platforms
  • Having web development experience is a must
  • Knowledge of design patterns MVC, MVP, and other design patterns
  • Working knowledge in database technologies Oracle or MS SQL
  • Expert level knowledge with Nodejs, React, and JavaScript, and SQL
  • Deep understanding of client-facing systems, rules engines, data processing, and email systems
  • Hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, React, SQL, Microservices, and REST API frameworks
  • Self-motivated; willing to take on new opportunities and learn new technologies
  • Solid team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Familiarity with source control systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficient in current web development technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of Azure as it relates to Web App Development (Required)
